Transfer case leak

I was under my jk this weekend after poppin her cherry on the trails and noticed that i have a leak. The center gasket in the tranfer case is leaking, not bad but enough to take it in. Is anybody else had this problem? Trying to figure out if this is trend or just random. Might be a good idea for everybody to take a look to see. I have 4600 miles and it is 5 weeks old.

No problems on my 4-door JK other than there was too much adhesive on the rubber seals for the doors and a few highway trips sprayed it all over the paint (looks like tar). The dealership cleaned it up for me and gave me a free oil change so I can't complain too much.

There really is NO center gasket in the 241OR. Look real close right at the shift shaft seals. It will be on the driver side right where the cables attatch to shift the case. Mine leaked there when it had 17 miles on it... Dealer took care of it without a problem. I am not saying that you dont have a leak where the front case half and the rear meet, but if you do, still take it to the dealer, and they will have to remove the case and re seal it. Not a big deal though.

Joe... I am beginning to think you know just about everything... shift shaft seal it is.. I wasn't able to get my head up in under there far enough to see where it was leaking on my ramp It was to high. On the one at the dealership, they let me back in the garage and look up in under it after the mechanic couldn't find the leak.

The guy that took my problem over the phone wrote down transmission vs. transfer case... your the man Joe.

thanks
