Uconnect constantly rebooting

I have a 2015 JKUS that came with the base 130 res radio. I swapped it out for the 130s and installed a Uconnect module about a month ago. Everything has worked flawlessly since then...until today.

In the month I've been using it, the radio dropped the BT connection for the first time today, and I couldn't keep it connected for more than 2-3 minutes at a time. Each time I pressed the phone button to reconnect, it would display "UCI Initializing..." and eventually connect...only to disconnect a few minutes later. I figured it could be a bad connection, so I deleted all devices from the radio.

Well...now I can't pair my phone because I can't get through the voice command tree fast enough before UC restarts again. I'll get to the part about choosing a PIN and then UC freezes.

Am I shit out of luck here? It was bad enough I had to pay $105 for the stealership scumbags to initialize the damn module. Do I need to pay again for them to fix it or is it covered under warranty?

Call Uconnect customer service. When I had my cherokee they were super helpful and I never had to step foot near a dealership. The lady made me do all these weird things to reset the system (opening and closing the doors, ignition in certain stages, etc) but it worked and my system stopped having connection issues.

I just tried the press buttons, open door combo and still no luck. If pulling fuses doesn't help, I'll go to the dealer.

If they charge me to diagnose the problem and it turns out to be an issue with an OEM part (which is most likely is), I'll do a chargeback for every cent.

you may want to try rebooting the phone just to see if it's causing an issue. Depending on the phone, there's different methods to reboot it. This isn't the same as turning it off and back on again, it's also not the same as a reset.
the processor gets bogged down because of all the APPs working in the background that are not actually closed when we leave them.

I tried that, as well as using a different device and pulling fuses. It all leads me to believe the UC module itself is defective. The OEM supplier I purchased the kit from sold me a defective mic which I had to replace; a defective module wouldn't surprise me at this point.

I made an appointment at the dealer next week. I just hope it won't cost me an arm and a leg.

Thanks. I originally wanted the OEM look with the steering wheel controls, but I'm starting to think more and more than I've made an expensive mistake. Could've installed a sick navi unit for the same price.

$130 - Mopar headunit w/ UC
$175 - original UC module
$60 - UC steering wheel buttons
$105 - labor to initialize UC
$105 - labor to diagnose UC
$330 - new UC module
Total $905

$905 to get a feature that comes standard even on the shittiest new cars. Whoever came up with the acronym Just Empty Every Pocket wasn't joking.
