Understanding Caster Angles...etc

JK Owners,

Just wondering if you could direct me to a forum/explanation of caster angles. Where are these measurements actually taken? What angle or degree is being measured? What is an acceptable range? I know my trigonometry, however I'm unsure how to apply it...lol

I will be purchasing the Rock Krawler 2.5" Max Travel Lift Kit, which comes with front and rear control arms to assist in the geometry of the vehicle....I'm pretty sure they give me measurements for the proper length of the control arms....thus, I would assume Rock Krawler already has a set caster angle for their 2.5" lift...correct?

I appreciate the help!

Go to stickies, JK Tech common asked questions, caster and lifting.

Check the first post in JK Tech "Newbie's Guide to Lifting Your JK"; it explains the purpose of just about everything.

JK or JKU?

I just had the RK 1.5 X-Factor installed on my JKRX and had to do some adjusting to get caster into spec. RK says that the lengths they provide in the kit install instructions are a guide but each Jeep is different so you'll need to get an alignment to check caster, etc.
