I have a 15 JKU Sahara and this morning when I turned my jeep on I got a single warning chime but no light was on on the dash. It just started doing this today and it does it every time I turn it on. It's not the seatbelt chimes or door chimes. Just a single chime at start up. Someone please help before I drive myself nuts trying to figure this out.
There are a couple other threads on here that describe it as the oil change indicator is about to light up on your dash. Mine did it last week, so I turned the key to the run position and depressed/lifted the gas pedal 3 times in 10 seconds, turned the key off -- it was gone. I change my oil at 5,000-6,000 mile intervals using trip B on the odometer, so I completely ignore the oil change indicators and reset them as soon as they come on.
This has been happening with JK's since 07. The single chime on some JK's, like wjfawb0 indicated, seems to activate just prior to the oil change indicator. It doesn't happen with all JK's, but with some it seems to work that way based upon what's been reported on the forum.
Resetting the change engine oil message got it to stop, even though there was no message on the dash to begin with.
Turn key to on position (don't start) and press gas fully three times within 10 seconds. Turn key to off position. Then start like normal and the warning chime shouldn't go off.
