Washer Motor Failure

Driving home in a bug storm from Rhode Island to CT last night.....I pulled the armature towards me to get washer fluid going and I heard the motor whine, but no fluid came out.

I got out of the vehicle, (at a "quick shop" gas station along Route 6) and checked the fluid in the tank,......it was 3/4 full.

Leaned back into the drivers side and pulled the lever again and it worked fine.

Got back in, drove some more,...pulled the lever,.....no juice!!!

What's goin on????!!!!!

that's definitely stating the obvious.....has this happened to anyone else? I'm under Warrantee so I'm not worried about having it checked out and fixed, but for future reference, I'm assuming there is "vacuum" with a new hose and all....has anyone had their pump go bad on them?
