Well thanks to help from you guys, it's on! Whew! (pics)

I got the winch (Zeon) on this morning. I discovered those rear frame support straps are too thick to allow the Zeon to mount. So I had to remove the two 7/16" bolts and loosen the 3/4" bolt in each bracket, remove the stock backer plates, and use washers instead. That gave about a 1/32" clearance on the driver's side, but that's enough.

Anyway, here's what it looks like sans the light install:

Boy, that winch nestles right down in there doesn't it!

I want to thank everyone again for helping me get by a frustrating moment, and for all the other helpful advice and pics!!!

Well it's about time, what took you so long.

Just kidding, nice job an a great winch. I used my cti today just for a trial run with the pull pal. I would suggest you do the same, get out and use it in a test run before you need to use it for real.

I sure to like it so far. Now if I don't pull the bumper off on my first test

Will do!

Hmmm wait though, what's a pull pal??? Ya gotta realize I'm a newbie, I haven't mastered the Jeepense lingo yet.

A pull pal is a land anchor, it's used if you wheel in an open area and get stuck there would be no trees to anchor your winch to, this land anchor gives you that point. I wheel alone a lot, not recommended here, and I try to be as prepared as much as possible, the pull pal gives me one more solution to a problem. People have buried their spare tires and tied off to that in a pinch, this way is easier but more expensive.

Ahhh...so that's what that's called!

Will that hold pretty well without somebody standing on it? Seems like I saw somewhere that it needed to be weighted???

What's the slotted black thingy hanging on the rope near the pull pal - looks like a fairlead mounting bracket? Looks like you're using synthetic line so 'recoil' shouldn't be a problem???

Thanks!

Do not stand on it. That would be a recipe for disaster.

LOL - I went to Krystal for breakfast this morning and of course, backed the Wrangler in so I could admire the look while eating! I may be a Wrangler fanatic.

I am guessing it is a rubber protector for keeping his hawse from being damaged with the factor 55 is pulled tight. You could not pay me to stand on the pull pal. I have never used one but think they would be a good idea in certain terrain.

Yeah, and if you wheel alone in desert type conditions it is a very good idea to have one. Lots of places like that in Eastern Montana...
