Traction control and defrost. Not sure if defrost is back window or mirror.

I think the 3rd one might be downhill assist...not entirely sure though I don't have it on mine.

Hill Descent Control:

Hill Descent Control with grade sensing allows a smooth and controlled hill descent on rough or slippery terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal. This system applies the brakes to each wheel individually, when needed, to reduce forward motion while negotiating down steep grades.

Second from left = Traction control off. I do that once in a while when I'm in 2-wheel drive in snow and want to mess around in the snow. Otherwise trac control will reduce throttle to reduce wheel spin.

Other one is down hill assist. I don't have this since I have a manual but if you enable this it will automatically let the jeep creep down a steep hill and will automatically brake to keep your speed slow. I'm not sure if this is the case with the jeep but in some vehicles you have to put the trans in the lowest (1) gear. Owners manual would explain I'm sure. I just put mine in 4-lo, first gear. For off roading of coarse - top speed is about 1 mph.

Crack open your owner's manual. It's on your DVD or can be downloaded at www.jeep.com.

As previously stated:

1-Driver seat heater - Since you didn't ask, I'm gonna assume you got this one.

2-Electronic Stability Control (page 463 in the 2013 Owner's Manual) - Basically, corrects for over/under steering of the Jeep by applying the brake of the appropriate wheel to assist in counteracting the over/under steer condition. In a nutshell, makes up for people who don't know how to drive in slick conditions.

3-Hill Descent Control (page 470 in the 2013 Owner's Manual) - "HDC is only intended for low speed off-road driving, HDC maintains vehicle speed while descending hills in off-road conditions by applying the brakes when necessary. When enabled, HDC senses the terrain and activates when the vehicle is descending a hill." Definitely read the manual so you understand it before using. It can prevent you from overheating and warping rotors by over using or lead footing your brakes when going down hills.

Even easier with a smart phone. Download Jeep app. You can open a page with the icon and a description of what it does. For the Android...

1. Assbacon
2. Oil Slick
3. Time Travel (88mph+ Only) - it's pointing downhill 'cuz it's near impossible to get these bricks traveling that fast otherwise.

Where did you purchase the Pirate option kit. Mine came with the Passenger Ejection option.

Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the CAN bus so I have worn out the decal trying to get it to work.

You can order them from pixeldecals. 10 different bezel decals for $7.00. I have mine in submarine mode.

Left to right we have,
1: Heated Seats: Use when your butt is cold
2: Traction Control: Use to turn off Traction Control. For doing doughnuts ect.
3: Hill Descent Control: Use when wheeling going down a steep hill in the automatic transmition Jeep
4: Hazard Lights: Use when you stop to help pull some one out of a ditch on the side of the road.

Winner Laughed so hard on this one. So glad I wasn't taking a sip of coffee when reading this. Instead of this reply, I would be cleaning my computer screen.

That isn't the actual owners manual you are looking at...that is like the quick user guide (or something like that).

Go to Jeep.com and download that actual manual.

Not in my manual.
I guess Im trying to see how to use these when off roading. The hill assist is that normally off on a auto tran like mine? then I press it to activate it? I did that on highway and a light flashed on dash about 6 times. just wondering who uses it and how and when. TY all for input

Jeep Owners | Download an Owners Manual 2004 - 2011 | Jeep

Go there...download the owners manual.

It is indeed in there.

Don't confuse the owners manual with the user guide. They are not the same thing, and Wrangler's do not come with a hard copy of the owners manual.

Hell...here is the direct link to the 2014 OM (3rd version). It is 673 pages long. Page 472 and 478 are what you are looking for.

Hill decent is only for an auto and can be only used in 4L. It doesn't work in 2 or 4H. Manual trans. JK's don't need it. Just go on the Jeep website and you can review and/or download a manual which will more thoroughly explain all of the 4X4 functions plus. You basically use it decending a steep grade in 4L. You'll generally maintain a steady slow speed which basically enables you to stay off of the brakes instead of "riding" them.

Panther's absolutely correct. But to add to the "Cheap Mod" thread, look on the inside cover of the USER Guide (aka worthless pamphlet) and there is an 800 number that the first registered owner can call and get a hard copy of the Owner's Manual, Warranty Book and UConnect Manual mailed to them.

I did that and had it within a couple of weeks. I also use the PDF, but it's nice to have the hard copy handy to browse around.
