What axle do I have?

I called the jeep customer service line and gave them my vin# to find out what axles I have. Well according to them I have a Dana 44 new generation HD w/LS on the rear and a Dana 30 new generation on the front. Does that sound right to any one? Is there a way to make sure this is right? The dealer sticker on the window when I purchased it just said it had the 410 axle ratio with trac-loc(R) limited slip read differential. I want to add a locker to the front if I have a dana 44 rear I think I could just order the new released dana44 front with elec locker. Does this sound right to any one?

Front will be dana 30 unless rubicon.. Rear could either be dana 35 or 44 in the 07's as I recall.. if you have a metal drain plug its a dana 44. Yes you should be able to swap in a complete front 44, for what 1400 or so complete from jeep.

i got dana 44's on mine, just wonderin wat the drain plug is for, i know draining, but when and why would u have to use it

The early 07 jk's some had the rear dana 35.

For the price of a completely locked and re-geared new D44, I'd buy one(if I had a JK).

The only issue being is you'd need to regear the rear if you don't get a new axle with the same ratio. But for locked D44's front and rear with 5.13's... $2600 is a hell of a deal.

Yes, they are correct. The Dana 30 is what you have. However it's not the same Dana 30 that came in the TJ models. Even it has been upgraded. Depending on what kind of wheeling you do it might be all you'll ever need.

With your factory 4.10s the D44 Rubi front is a direct bolt in...You can wire up the front locker to work on a simple toggle switch so it will be usable at all times....no regearing nessasary....With a lift,airtools and a extra set of hands you could do the swap in a couple hours easy....great time ta do a 3 inch lift as well since youll have the front all apart anyway...half the works done
