What disconnects?

I am installing the RC 3.25" lift on my 2015 2 door. What swaybar disconnects can I use on that?

Thanks,

Dan

The JKS are pricey, but worth it as they seem very easy to reconnect even when on uneven ground, at least for me. I have no experience with other brands, but the reviews are consistently great for JKS.

I checked out the RC ones but they say they don't work with my lift. I was looking at the TF ones and liked that they advertise that they have a system for securing the disconnects and swaybar when disconnected, I like this because it was always a pain using zip ties on my old TJ when disconnected. The JKS look sturdy, but I didn't notice anything for securing them when disconnected. I also like the look of the RK onces, seem like the grease zerks would be nice for keeping everything lubed.

The Rough Country run long. I think they specified 10" for 2.5 lift. I was easily able to thread mine longer and cut off the excess in order to get down about 7.75". I ended up setting them right at 8". So far so good. BTW, thread is 1/2"-20. measure what you need and then size them.

I am happy with my JKS. Very adjustable and easy to take on and off. I bought the Teraflex ones but really didn't like the way they were put together. The JKS ones seem much stouter. A member asked for a video of them coming off because he heard they were hard. I filmed this, it takes 20 seconds to remove them and 30 seconds to put them back on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iir6Q-s4vr4

I have the Teraflex and cannot recommend them. Some of the bolts routinely work loose, even with lots of red loctite. I also have a rubbing issue with them when they are in the stowed position. I'm only running 33 inch tires with about 2.5 inches of lift and they rub on the stowed links at full stuff. I contacted TF about it and there basic response was too bad.

Metalcloak has the cheapest ones I've seen with the stowable option at about $69. I'll be replacing mine in the near future.

It is kit #J5313. I cannot remove the pin bolt and the lock washer at this time. I will try and take it to the shop and see if they can remove them. You may want to go to the Zone page and see if they offer parts and the cost. I will keep you informed.

I'm pushing it up as far as it needs to go to hook the links in. But it rubs on the links, not the swaybar. The parking mount is set to close to the wheel using the body bolt that holds it.

Sounds like you have quite a bit of back spacing in your wheel if it is contacting it. Is there another location to possibly burn in a bolt to move the link when disconnected? or maybe use some Velcro or plastic snap buckle and a screw to move it closer to the grill? The other option is to put spacers on the wheel and move it out a bit? Might give you a little more aggressive stance too.

Just disregard everything I wrote earlier (with the exception of the picture being the only requirement). I actually read the directions and realized what I needed to do in order to remove the pin bolts. Yeah, put a screwdriver in the hole. (who would have guessed?). So, I looked at the kit on Zone's website and it is for lifts of 3-4.5" so if you decide to go bigger in the future you can probably keep using them.
I put all pieces back together so it should be easy to install it. Also, I did not clean them but all of the grease that is on them is White Lithium so it should be ease to clean, install, and relube them. Good luck and can't wait to see the picture on this thread of them being used.

Send me that PM with the address.

I'm running the stock wheels with 1.5 inch spacers. That puts the backspacing at about 4.75 inches, which should clear fine. I do wheel my Jeep and am at full stuff fairly often. I couldn't run the tires I have without the spacers.

If it was just the rubbing, I'd do like you mentioned. But I'm also getting tired of constantly having to retighten the bolts, even when I use red loctite. This seems to be a common problem with the TF discos.

That sucks. Try replacing the bolts maybe? I am running 20x10 with 4.5" of backspacing. I also run 35's on an AEV 4.5" lift with zero rubbing when I had the swaybar installed and disconnected. When stowed are they folded back onto the swaybar?

The bolts are integrated with the stud, so you'd have to source the whole thing. The links do not fold back into the sway bar, that's part of the problem. The parking mount pulls them out and forward.

I had heard good things about Teraflex customer service, and i have other Teraflex components, so I was really surprised when they told me I needed more lift height then 2.5 inches to run a disco advertised as being for 0-3 inches of lift. If their components need 4.5 inches of back spacing or less, then they should put that in the specs when they market the products.

I have a set of 17 inch rims with 4.5 backspacing in the garage for my soon to be 35s. I just need to either justify buying them now, or wait until i wear out my current 275/70r18s.

Thanks, but no. I've already pulled the parking mounts off, and am just running the links for now until I buy the Metalcloak ones as a replacement. For $69 plus shipping, it's not worth my time to mess with.

But thanks for trying to help.
