Wipers move intermittently an inch when Jeep is off.

Wipers move intermittently an inch when car is off.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased from an Aunt a 2010 jeep wrangler unlimited islander edition. When the car is off, keys out, the windshield wipers move up an inch or so randomly. I have to do something to make it happen (press the door unlock button. Open the door, close the hood, etc.). There seems to be no method behind this madness.

After searching here and other forums things point to a faulty clockspring
Sounds to me like a ground short in the Jeep somewhere but I wanted to see if anyone else is having this issue.

Thanks all,

Never heard of that but it could be the clockspring. The only thing that's interesting is that unless you have a remote start there's no electrical connection when you open or close the hood.

My '07 did this when I swapped the wiper motor. No rhyme or reason. Clocked the motor arm so it did it below the blackout of the windshield. Never really noticed it after that.

Glad to know its not just me seeing that. Mine randomly climbs the windshield. I figured they were just bored.

It drives me nuts, every time I open and/or close a door, press the key fob the wipers climb another inch until they reach 1/2-3/4 the way up the windshield. This causes me to, immediately after turning on my jeep, turn on and off the wipers so they returned to the position they are supposed to be in. There has to be a reason for this happening... something has to be done
