So I bought a 01 Sahara 4.0 (120K) automatic last week and I know the dealer pretty well. He told me if it had any problems to bring it back to him. He shouldnt have said that.....
It left me stranded over the weekend a couple of times. While driving it just died. Had to wait about five to ten minutes before it would start again. Would just turn over and nothing. Then a few times it just simply would not start, had to keep trying and trying. It was showing code 0320 which I think is the crankshaft postion sensor. I unplugged the sensor and checked it out, it was clean. Problems still continued.
I researched it here over the weekend and figured it was either fuel related (pump or regulator) or either the crankshaft postion sensor or camshaft position sensor. I dropped it off to him yesterday morning and he said he would take it to a shop (a shop I know and they are pretty good). Mechanic replaced the crankshaft position sensor and then it threw another code for the camshaft position sensor. He replaced that and then determined the computer was bad. Something about it not controlling the timing of the injectors correctly. So he ordered one and hopes it to be here tomorrow. Good thing this all isn't my dime..
Does all this make sense to all the experienced mechanics out there or has anyone else been through this same thing? Just curious....I know there is a lot of knowledge here on this board. Thx.
