01 tj 2.5 manual no power

So aside from the fact its a 4cyl my jeep is gutless. I know my exhaust maniflod has a minor crack in it but this has been going on before that. The other day I was going up a long gradual hill and I went from 65mph down to 45mph quick I was in 4th gear and goin no where. No check engine lights nothin obvious. Only other thing I can think of is once in a blue I get a rotten egg smell like a bad cat. But jit very often. Any help or advice would be great.
Also I am looking to get a Banks header for it. I know that wont make it a hoy rod but just wonder If its worth it.

How many miles you have on the motor? Could be bad spark plugs. Is the engine "chugging" at all? I had a 99 Ranger 4x4 before that had a similar problem and upon inspection I found two spark plugs had actually broken at the ceramic. I was only running on four of the six cylinders.

And as far as a header goes I would say go for it. They tend to flex easier and not crack like the stock exhaust manifold.

Take it to a shop and they will tell you if your cat is clogged.

How is the fuel rail pressure does it drop with increased rpm?

Was there a sudden one time change or a gradual loss of power over time?

How many miles?

Good fresh plugs help any?

Have you checked compression?

One of my buddies has a 97 4 cylinder with the 5 speed and he has to be in forth with just a stiff head wind. May just be the nature of the motor??
