Hey all, my wife wrecked our 2002 Wrangler Sahara by spinning on ice and hitting the guard rail. She's OK but the Jeep isn't. It pushed the front driver side in and up. The wheels won't turn because the top of the shock mount hits the steering linkage bar. I had a frame guy look at it and he tells me I need to replace the frame. The body is in great shape minus the fender and hood now. Before I new the frame was bad I was planning on spending about 2000 on everything to fix it but now I'm afraid my budget has gone out the window.
I'd use for parts and find another in need of a little TLC. Not trying to bum you out but there's probably a lot more than a frame hurt on it. If you have collision insurance, they'd total it and you can usually buy it back for very cheap (salvage certificate). No ins, then I'd just use it for parts and move on. Glad the wife's OK.
I did have collision insurance and they did total it out. I also bought it back but it comes with a clean title because the jeep was paid off. Unfortunately I don't have the time to part it out. I was hoping this could be a relatively easy fix as 90% of this jeep is in great condition. Wasn't ever used for off-roading and has low miles for a 2002. What a bummer!
Most of the frame repair sections are caps for rust repair
