03 heater core work in 97?

I have a 97 TJ and my heater core is bad. A buddy has a wrecked 03 TJ. Can i take his and use it in mine??

I would call the dealer and see if they are all the same. You need to know if both have a/c or not.
Retired my 94 YJ 4cyl 5spd @ 200K
Now in a 04 TJ 4cyl 5spd CV @120K+
Both as a commuter vehicle in NW, NJ
April 2012.downsized and now a 99er.
