03 Sahara w/Evap issues

i just took my 2003 sahara to the shop and the dude there ran a diagnostic and just told me its the "evap" system and i also have a "no signal" code for the speedo..

it's been running kind of rough and i lose alot of power going up hills.. i can tell there is a cylinder out and the speedo goes dead once in a while.. i love my jeep but i hate these issues..

i hope this doesn't cost too much to fix.

Does the code say if it's a minor or major leak? My I6 (03 Rubicon)had a minor leak that ended up bring a loose green plastic threaded cap located between the TB and brake master cylinder.

If a loose gas cap was the cause, your fix is free - make sure to close the gas cap all the way

The cap I'm talking about is in the engine compartment. It's a little green one on mine.

I am aware bud - I was making a general statement because my gas cap was the cause for me (I bought the wrong sized locking cap before) gave me both the major and minor evap leak codes

thanks guys, dude at the shop told me it was major codes and that i'd have to leave my truck for a day or two for them to run through it and figure out.. i'm gonna go look under the hood for a green cap.. probably a stupid question: what's the TB?

edit: i found the small green cap near the master cylinder and tightend it pretty well.. i ran the engine for a few minutes in the driveway but it still runs a little rough and smells rich..

A Haynes isn't your best bet, though it will help. Get your hands on a FSM. Somebody on this forum was helping people get one a while back. You may want to try using the search function to find him.
