1999 TJ slapping nose

Hey y'all,
the day before yesterday i started getting a slapping noise in my 1999 TJ coming from what i think is down around the driveshaft (not 100% sure but thats what is sounds like) when i accelerate. It sounds almost like when trains go across tracks like that click-click click-click sound? I've checked everything i could think of and everything seems fine. Its driving me insane i cant figure it out. Any ideas?

Thank you!

-Noah

Double check your driveshaft to be sure that there's nothing caught on it which would slap against the floorboards while driving...

Kinda not relevant but if you ever want to play a great prank on someone, take a plastic zip tie and tie around their driveshaft. When they start off it will take a few seconds to figure out what is going on with all the loud slapping noises of the end of the zip tie slapping their undercarriage with every revolution of the driveshaft.

Is it the front drive shaft????? That happened to mine and it was the CV. Same thing happened to the rear and it was the Universal joint!!!
The front is easy to check just dissconnect the front of the drive shaft from the axel, tie it up real good out of the way and run it around the block.

Nope

Nope, disconnected the front drive shaft and it didn't fix anything, could it be the rear?

Yes. If you have already checked all of the joints and they look good.
I would put it up on jack stands and run it. that would give you the ability to get under it while the drive train is running. Just make sure of your safety, chock frt wheels frt and back.
