2.5 engine question

Ok I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have a 2.5 engine. Last year I changed engines, and now the new engine is completely broken in, and I have a question, its a 2.5 automatic trans (bad knees) and I have noticed that when its just me in the Jeep it picks up ok, not as fast as some but faster than others tacking between 2 and 3 to get up to speed, but put 4 people in it and the pickup drops dramatically, do I need to start crawling around under the hood, or is this a normal part of a Jeep performance? I'm kinda clueless because this is really the first 4 banger I have ever had
Air filter is clean plugs are gaped properly, wires are good, all fluids are full and the trans filter is clean. And as far as the soapy water and vac gage tells me theres no vac leaks anywhere.

Yep 2.5's are weak with a few ppl in it. I'm running a 2.5 . I find if I run the rpm's around 3g in each gear it's not bad but still a dog . I tell everyone I dont give rides lol
It's not bad alone

Thanks guys, I didn't know if I had something under there set wrong or what. I like the little 2.5 cause its got enough power using the gears properly, to do anything I want to do on or off road, but with 4 people in her the hot rocket's around here all pass me with a finger in the air, but one thing I HAVE noticed, if a Jeep is behind me it'll usually stay there until I get to highway speed, then pass me and wave

thanks again guys, I'm glad to know its normal.

I just stay in the truck lane when I have a heavy passenger load. Learned the extra 5 seconds saved racing around was just not worth it.

Around here when I drive on the interstates I stay in the right hand land because the other drivers here are so stuck up, inconsiderate, and in a hurry, that they not only will NOT let you over, they will do their best to make you miss an exit just so they can get one car length ahead, even if it means running you of the road.
Me....I don;t care, if ya want in just use the turn signal and I'll be more than happy to let ya in.
