2000 Wrangler Recall - Engine Fire

Hi guys

As you all probably know, this model had a recall for this problem. I only found out today. Seems that debris collects around the number three cylinder raising the possibility of a fire. Apparently this was rectified by installing a manifold shield to modify the airflow and prevent debris building up. There is a small plate around that area on our engine but it's a second hand car and we don't know its history. Just wondering if anyone out there with the same model knows for sure that the shield has been installed on their jeep and can send me a photo so I can see if it's the same as ours so I'll know for sure the problem has been rectified in the past.

Cheers from Aussieland!

Thanks 4Jeepn for the pics. Also, a couple of days ago here is Oz, some guy's Jeep caught on fire as he was driving along. I didn't catch the news or the follow-up investigation on the news but someone told me it was fuel fumes in the dash that ignited something and that it could be a fault in Wranglers and other Jeeps. Will have to keep an eye on that one...sounds like a newie.
