Cool 2002 TJ Sahara A/C issue?

Hey guys, Ive searched for answers everywhere and cant figure this out.

My A/C control will not blow in the "low" position (first dot to the left). It blows fine for the other 3 positions. Has anyone had a similar problem before, and how as it solved.
Im living overseas so dont have the option of a Jeep dealer to help me out and don't really trust the locals with this unique vehicle. Im pretty much on my own trying to figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For years mine only blew in the 2 and 4 position. If you clean the terminals on the switch it might help. Mine finally blows in all four but if i start going up a hill it transfers all wind energy to the defrost setting. I've eventually just got used to it.

Thanks for the quick reply Ed. I'm about "average" when it comes to being mechanically inclined. Can you explain "If you clean the terminals on the switch" a bit more

The switch your turning to select the setting. Pull the center dash off and clean the terminal and connector to the switch.

Pulling the dash.....

Remove the defrost vent cover (big long piece on top of dash with defrost vent in it) by using a flat object such as a screw driver to pry up the side of it. Note!!! do this on the far end not the middle!!!

There will be 2 phillips screws at the top of the center bezel...remove them.

Open the glove box...

Grab the lower right corner of the center bezel....pull...it will pop right off.

There will be 4 screws holding the climate control box to the dash...remove the screws and pull it out.

Unplug the connector and clean it...di-electric grease is good to use after cleaned.

Put back in reverse order.

Also if that does not fix your problem...it is the blower resistor. Located under the dash on the passenger side kick panel.

I have a few write ups on the different models floating around the forum. Do a quick search for "Heater A/C controls" and you should be able to find several post/writeups for the issue.

Welcome to the forum too bud.
