2004 Catalytic Converter Removal?

I have to replace my 2004 Wrangler (4.0L) catalytic converter. I got under there last night but could not really get good access to the bolts at the top of the cat assembly. Should I go in from the top and remove some of the manifold assembly or is it doable from underneath with the right socket wrech extension? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Drop the transfercase skid plate. Just make sure you put a jackstand under the transmission to hold it up.
