I just did my clutch & put a NV3550 out of 04 into my 02 TJ. Everything went together good, I do have 1 problem with a plug that goes into the side of the trans, the 04 has a smaller plug than the 02 so my jeep harness side is to big.
My jeep will not turn over, it acts like the clutch is not pushed in though it is, will this plug on the trans not being plugged in relate to the "not turning over"
If it's the crank sensor it will turn over just not start right?
Hope the dealer has the correct plug I need tomorrow??
You may have an issue with your pilot bushing not being seated properly. Also the nv3550 uses an external Slave cylinder. And the ax15 uses an internal. Did you convert those as well. Did you make sure that both the input shafts on the transmission were the same length ?
I can't imagine that The only plug I have on my nv1500 At least on the tranny it's self is the reverse light switch. And speedo switch is on the transmission on my 06 at least Well I hope ya figure it out !!
The only plug on the side of the NV3550 is the reverse light switch. That wouldn't keep it from starting. I would check your clutch safety switch and wiring. Press down hard on the clutch pedal and kind of wiggle it around while fully pushed in. Have had other trucks have this issue but not the Heep. Put enough pressure on it so you think your foot is gonna go thru the floor

I don't think they have 04 but 03 is basically identical
If you think the clutch switch is an issue the owners manual that came in glove box says how to pull or add a fuse to disable it varies between years
Agree only plug on side of tranny is the back up light but on bell is the crank angle sensor which you need to run and is different different years
Lastly if you replace an auto there is a park neutral switch on auto you have to bypass or it will not start
One more thing the starter also needs a good battery ground to engine which might have been removed on changing tranny
