2004 TJ Sahara Subwoofer

I have a 2004 Wrangler TJ Sahara with a bad sub, where's the best place to get a replacement price but good speaker. Is it a bitch to replace?

My original just recently blew out. I swapped mine out with the Quadratec direct replacement.
Doesn't sound any better than it did when the Jeep was new, but fixed the popping.
I didn't want to mess with splicing wires or anything.
Install was fairly simple. It would have been much easier if I was only 3 feet tall, and removed the drivers seat!

Unless you are going to also replace the amp that drives the sub, I'd go with the direct replacement from quadratec. The factory amp is very small and delicate and not suitable for driving a better speaker.
A buddy recently replaced his sub with a kicker unit, sounded better for one day until the factory amp blew.

I've been driving a Kicker 10CVT652 sub with the stock amp for going on 2 years now without a problem.

The stock amp is rated at 80 watts and is fine for a sub of that size. Just make sure the sub you choose is a 2ohm dual voice coil sub otherwise you could damage the amp over time.
