2006 Starting Problem

OK I need help Just bought my first Jeep, 2006 Wrangler Unlimited. When I try to start nothing happens. All lights come on but nothing from engine. Thought at first it was only when engine was cold but found today that this wasn't the case. Have cleaned all battery connections and still had problem. Have noticed that I can try to turn key without depressing clutch and press clutch with key still turned and I hear a click. Then I turn key off and on and it will start. I can use any help. Thanks

Did you check/clean/tighten the connections at the starter?

Yep I cleaned all connections. Guys at the shop suspect a switch on the clutch. I was able to start by releasing the clutch about one inch while the key was turned. Thanks for the help Charlie
