2H and 4H shifter issues after lift

I just installed a 2.5" suspension and 1.25" body lift in my 97 TJ. I also did a TC drop and installed the shifter drop bracket that came with the lift for the TC shifter. The directions say, if you can't get it into 4L that you should adjust the linkage, but I'm having problems with 2H and 4H instead. When the TC is in 2H the shifter seems a bit lifted (can't push it down) and it is only about 1/2" away from the stop for 4H. Then, when I pull it that 1/2" to get it into 4H I feel it engage but seconds later it pops back down into 2H (80% of the time anyway). How do I adjust for these? The instruction I have only explain adjusting for 4L and I don't want to start screwing with it! BTW, it's smooth shifting into all positions, just this one 2H/4H problem!

Some t-case shifter brackets are designed better than others and those that aren't designed so well can create more problems than they are worth. It sounds like you got one of the latter types, what brand is it? Some report they never get their shifters working properly after installing a shifter kit. And some have no problems shifting at all after installing a body lift and t-case drop without installing a shifter relocation bracket, I was one of those. So with your problems, you might be better off removing the bracket which is probably what I'd try next.

What brand shifter bracket did you install?

Does anyone on WF have any recommendations for a good brand of t-case shifter bracket that works well? With no personal experience with them, I can't make a personal recommendation for any particular product though he may be better off without one if his TJ is anything like mine was when I had a t-case drop and a body lift.

One brand of t-case bracket I have seen recommended a lot is from Advance Adapters, those that use it swear by it.

no, I think the bracket is ok. It's just a drop bracket that lowers the pivot point on the drivers side of the unit and it helped a lot; i say that cause the angle the shift linkage was at before install was quite extreme... Btw, it's rough country. anyway, I'm gonna play around with the adjustment today and get a complete aftermarket unit in the future. thanks

edit, now thinking, maybe I could have been ok without the drop bracket and just bending the rotating part of the linkage to match the angle of the rod that it pivots on.... hmmm
