3 Inch Body on 4.5 Inch Suspension

I now have a 4.5 Inch RC suspension lift on a 1997 TJ. I was wondering if anyone has something similar with an added 3 inch body lift. If so I was wondering if you ran into any problems as far as shifting, driving, ect. Thanks-Cody

First, welcome to WF!

Next, don't even THINK about installing a 3" body lift. A 1" body lift is fine, a 2" is ok too but only if absolutely necessary. There's never a good enough reason to install a 3" body lift though. They cause shifting problems for both the transfer case and transmission, you need longer fuel lines, the front steering shaft geometry will get jacked up, and you'll suffer a lot of ridicule from experienced Jeepers who typically equate them with a clueless newby.

Don't do it.

When you have a choice, buy American.

Haha. Okay. Thanks alot man. I already have a 1.25 inch body lift on it with the 4.5 inch suspension. I was just wondering if going any bigger of a body lift would cause any problems. And from what I read from other posts, it seems like a bigger body lift is just out of the question. I'll just stick with what I have to avoid any problems. Thanks again.
