3rd Brake Light Not Working

I noticed my brake light above the spare was inop. Changed bulb and still not working. Checked manual thinking short fuse, but no luck.
Could be wiring problem.....Any idea's????

When mine wasent working it was because of the trailor wiring was shorting out..It seems to be the most common issue in my eyes just check it out

The most common cause of that is corrosion on the four silver-colored contact buttons located at the hinge-side of the tail gate. They are what the 3rd brake light uses to connect to the brake light circuit. They may look "ok" but use a wire bush on them to get them clean so they can make a good solid electrical contact. Mine did the same thing and this is what fixed it.

That was the problem on mine also.
