Question 4.0, 2.5L to Inline 6

I am new to this forum and was told that this is the place to get good answers about anything to do with Jeep Wranglers. So here it is, I have a 1997 JW TJ 4.0, 2.5L and I really want to put in a Inline 6. What would it take to do that or cost and is it just not worth the hassle and better to sell mine and just buy a new one? I really like the style of mine and the fact that I got it with 0 body damage was a steal which is why I ask. Would hate to get rid of it if this is something I can do on my own and it won't empty my pocket.

I'm confused, your post says 4.0, 2.5L. (4.0 is an inline 6 cylinder, 2.5 is a 4 banger)
So wich one do ya have?

You either have a 4.0 (6 cylinder) or a 2.5 (4 cylinder). The 4.0 is an inline 6. If you do have the 2.5, it is not worth the labor to put in a 6. Unless there is a lot of money invested in the vehicle with other mods, get a new one

Sell it and look for one with a 4.0. You going to have more money in a swap than what you could pay to make up the difference in price for the 4.0
