Need some help about putting a 4.0 from an older cherokee 95 i think with a distributor into an 04 wrangler with the strobe system. Can I convert the ignition system and make it work? Block should be the same no? Thanks

block is not the same (different head, different water pump design, motor mount threads are different on the block, etc) and ditching the coil packs won't be worth the effort at all (you'd have to change PCM and wiring harness). the 95 is OBD1, all the sensors are different.

technically, yes, you could make it work, but it's going to cost more, you'll end up with a problematic Frankenstein of parts, and it won't be worth the effort.

you want to use a 2000-06 long block. preferably a 02-04 from a WJ or TJ w/ TUPY head.
