Cool 4.0 throtlle body for my 2.5

Will a 4.0 l throttle body from a 99 cherokee work on my 97 2.5 or does it have to be from a wrangler. im trying to give my 4 banger a lil more pep. soon to be purchased is the intake package from rusty's. any more ideas please pm me. thanks.

with all the money you will spend trying to juice up your engine, i would consider swaping your gears out. That will give you the most bang for you buck!

To answer your question.......yes.

It will work. Pull the 4.0 Tb, buy a new gasket, then pull your 2.5 TB. There is a small part on the 4.0 that needs to replace the same part on the 2.5 TB. Look at the TB's side by side, there is a tab sticking out of both of them. They are in different locations on the two TB so they cannot be interchanged. Move the 4.0 one to the 2.5 (four torx screws), clean the TB, new gasket and bolt it on.

Give your 2.5 a nice little bit more pep in the top end, you won't downshift as much.

Ditto. If you can get a good deal on one it is worth it. iI've done it before. Not a lot of extra juice but a little.

4.0 throttle body from '99 and up.
I didn't need the one he had because I got one locally.
