4.2 Cylinder Engine ???

I just read a classified ad that says the Jeep is a 2000 TJ Jeep Wrangler with a 4.2 cylinder engine.

I have never heard of a 4.2 engine. Is this just a typo?

A 4.2 cylinder doesn't exist but older wranglers had a 4.2 liter engine...the 2000 6 cylinder is a 4 liter, though.

It's either a typo, they're dumb, or they did a worthless motor swap.

1987 to 1990 the YJ had a 4.2 But 91 on they had the 4.0.

Why would they go to a smaller engine in a newer vehicle?

How would you think one could build a motor with .2 of a cylinder? It has four and one-fifth cylinders? Haha. And regarding the smaller displacement engines putting out more power, its all a matter of engineering. The more efficient a motor is made, the more power. The 4.0 is a beast of a motor in regards to reliability, but it is highly outdated in regards to actual design and in regards to the little power it puts out for such high displacement.
