4 low...

The only way I can put my jeep into 4 low is to shut it off and jam it in.. it takes a lot of force.. if i try putting it in while jeeps running i get a horrible noise from the t case.. any suggestions.. do i need to adjust the linkage because of the 4 inch lift..

i gotta ask the stupid question, you are following the directions for shifting to 4lo right?

transmission in nuetral, vehicle not moving. it isn't shift on the fly like 4 hi.

just checkin

While in neutral, it may also help if the Jeep is at a slight roll.

My manual says 2-3 mph, but it is vague about manual vs. auto.

i think i remember reading on here a transfer case fluid change might be in order and using a thicker viscosity will ease shifting into 4lo maybe not but at least someone will say otherwise on here

I just read my manual, yes I have it for a 99 jeep, and it says to slow to 2 to 3 mph and shift in 4low. 4hi can be done at speeds of less then 50mph.

cheers
