Haha be careful there, that Dana 35 in the rear is a rolling travesty on wheels. And 33s will done kill that damn thing real quick no matter how careful you are. I wouldn't even waste my money if you got a 35 in the rear, just save up and get a set of rubi axles or a 44 out of another TJ.

Also your gonna have complete crap for clearance with a 2" lift unless you get true flat fenders like some metal cloaks. Have fun poppin off a fender or havin zero articulation. Ya need atleast 3 1/2" of lift for 33s without flatties.

Either way, good luck man.

My D35 lasted 10 years on 33s before upgrading to an 8.8 and is still going under a friends Jeep. However I'm no fan of putting money into a D35, hence the upgrade and eventual 35s.

Some last 10 years like yours and some bust with stock tires after 1 year.

Never heard of or seen a D35 break with stock tires. I mean I guess if you're doing break stands...

The D35 holds up fine to 33's. Just don't be drag racing and show boating for high school girls like a 15 year old boy would in your jeep and it'll last.

Would it be safe to say that a setup like D30/44 would hold up well if used for light to moderate off roading on 31's? I plan on trying some light trails with a fellow buddy who owns 4 door JK(stock). Got no winch but I don't plan on getting anywhere near that type of situation...

Yes. Typically a rear 44 and upgraded front D30/HPD30/D44 are good for 35s.

Thats what I figured but I haven't done much roading due to health reasons but this spring hopefully I can enjoy my jeep abit more So running 31's shouldn't be an issue either...

Dana 44's are safe locked with 35's or even 37's. Dana 30's are also safe locked with 33's and open to probably 35's. You would need some serious power to break a Dana 44 on 31's
