I don't know what your Jeep is supposed to have but on mine, when it both 4hi and 4lo, the only light that shows is the orange 'Part Time' light. I'm thinking the 4hi and 4lo lights only kick on, on the Jeeps that have lockers (Rubicons?), but I'm not sure.

Mine only says part time also. As long as it works I wouldn't really mind it

Mine lit up 4WD for a year or so and now does not. It's probably the switch but I do need it to tell me when it's 4WD you know you engaged it.

Consider it a blessing if it doesn't light up. It's almost as annoying as the stupid up-shift light.

I don't like it. German cars don't have them either, unless they're american cars made to german specs. My previous VW and BMW both never had an upshift light. My saturn did though.

my jeep was the first time i've ever seen it. i don't mind it, but i don't follow it either, there are plenty of times where it tells you to shift but you shouldn't i.e. up hills with a load in the back. i just like all the accessories of my vehicle to be working properly.

My "part time" light is the only one that comes on too. They explained it to me at the dealer, but made no since. but what I did gather is that in my 2002 sport the "full time" light will never come on.... However I did notice a couple times now when I have hit a good size bump in the road, the light flashes on for a second.... I just ignor it...

The 97 I picked up doesnt come on either. Most of the time the upshift lights are designed to help with fuel economy. The upshift on the 97 camaro I had was actually good. It did nothing if you are driving hard.
