6.1 Hemi swap update

So far, so good. Ive got the old motor out, new one is in the crate.

List of parts ordered so far (in no particular order)
6.1 Hemi crate motor
Conversion Harness (sent to Hotwireauto for the remap)
Computer
Radiator
A/C Lines
Motor Mounts
x-fer Case Shift Linkage
Gas Pedal Bracket
Transmission Mount
Accelerator Pedal
Front O2 Sensor
Rear O2 Sensor
Diablo Predator 6.1 calibrator
Getrag 6 speed manual tranny
05 TJ fuel pump and gas tank
I already was running a 1'' body lift on a RE 4.5 LA kit and a belly up skidplate. Stickin' with my stock Rubi x-fer case for now and the dana 44's for now too. I have absolutely no idea how long this will take, but ill keep everyone updated!

Ive got some pics now, but its just of my jeep with no motor in it. not very exciting. cost wise, ill just say ive been planning this since i bought my jeep 5 years ago.... as far as a crate motor, they can go as far as 10k but i managed to get one for 7k from a mopar perfromance distributor. my goal with this project is to be able to use the jeep for a DD. i probably wont since the amount of $$ im puttin into it, but the plan is to be able to pass NYS inspection and have everything work, i.e. all the gauges and A/C etc.) like it would from the factory. As of right now i have an old dodge Dakota i use to commute with. Tlrrob1000 i spoke with a guy from Hotwireauto, he told me that with his fuseblock remapping and calibration you can pass California emissions with this. I live just outside NYC so emissions here are tough too, thats why i went with the Hemi so it passes inspections.

The problem we have here is the visual inspection. They don't care if the emissions pass, it had to be an option offered with the paticular vehicle. Like with my charger it came with a 5.2 or a 5.9 in 1990. According to the vin I can install the 5.9 and be fine After I pay the referee for there inspection.. Oh and it has to be 90 or newer. As for the Jeep I think the only two options in 90 were 4cyl. and 4.2L.
Ya its stupid. I mean my Barracudas could have passed smog without all the smog crap and people thought they were polluters. I feel as long as they pass emissions you should be good to go.
