Try that in the summer where I wheel and you'll regret wheeling without a top very quickly.
And since I have to look somewhat presentable for my outside sales job, it wouldn't work for me to drive around without the top on... a/c is something I don't use that often but when I do, I'm glad I have it.
So far as adding a/c goes, I've read several reports from those who did it and all were very favorable. JC Whitney has (or at least had) a complete a/c kit that will work on a Wrangler.
