97 tj No Heat / Air coming out of vents!

Hi guys,

New to WF. Ive got a 97 tj that I bought a couple weeks ago and no air blows out of the vents. I have pretty much ruled out a vaccum leak. All of the lines have suction and all of the actuaters on the "silver canisters" under the dash seem to be working correctly. The fan under the passenger dash blows normally as well. It seems as though a vent door is stuck closed between the fan and the end of the vents. Ive read that the actuator plastic arms break but from the outside I can tell that they are damaged. Could this be a blend door issue? The cable from the Hot/ Cold selector on the dash had a kink but I fixed it. Any help would be great!

I would re check your vacuum lines. It is the cause 98% of the time if you have air coming out in one place and just not able to switch between defrost, feet etc...

Thanks, but I checked the lines again and they all look good.

No air blows out of any vents. I am able to switch through all of the settings, feet, defrost, and, face vents all work. I am able to tell this because just barely enough air comes out to tell. Has anyone had expirence with an internal flap stuck shut?

Thanks!

I have a 97 as well. Had the same problem. Checked all my vacuum lines and could find no leaks, then I got to digging up old threads and found out about the actuator arms being junk and easily breaking. Located them, and every single arm is broke on all mine. Soo that's prolly your issue if I had to guess

Send a message via Yahoo to ChaddG
mine turned out to be the electronic actuator itself. 2001 tj
had to take the whole dash apart
