97 wrangler headlamp switch connector issues

I've tried searching the forum for this and I found one post that sort of gave an answer. My problem is that the female connector that the headlamp switch plugs into is melted. No auto parts store or even any jeep retailers seem to sell this wiring harness because the manufacture does not make it anymore. One post mentioned that a YJ connector harness would in fact work and improve the situation. Any ideas on this? proven / disproven? Any feedback or suggestions would be much appreciated!
