97 Wrangler Heater issue

Hey guys,
My heater works fine super hot..only issue is it wount go thru the main dash vents. It works thru the defroster vents and the floor vents.. What can be the issue?

The vent selector is activated by vacuum. Check for a vacuum leak, or a bad actuator under the dash.

Vacuum leak, Defrost is the default setting for vacuum leak in the system.

Common issue and the culprit is one of two things....

1) on the driverside of your engine...look at the intake manifold...there are vacuum lines going to the side of it...make sure they didn't pop off.....common.
2) stick your head behind and under the front pass tire...inside the bottom of the fender there is a black box....a vacuum line goes to it...make sure it didn't pop off.....common.

I had this issue with my 97.... if the other things dont solve it, there is an arm that moves a flap within the heater assembly. I had to use a piece of hangar wire to hold to flap in the proper position.
