Did a lot of work. New headers, gasket on the intake manifold, New water pump thermostat, lots of work done.
No codes, no issues, but...
There is this low hum that drones a bit since I put the new exhaust on. It oscillates in time so every few seconds like there is an air bubble or something it's really weird. Idle isn't really rough, no codes. Rides smooth.
Take the cap off the radiator, start the engine and squeeze the upper radiator hose repeatedly, this will help work any air out to the top of the radiator, fill as needed.
I read something about the intake manifold gasket, about lining it up and how it might look right but isn't. Could be a leak there.
Do you have any exhaust leaks? I disconnected my exhaust the other day to drop the oil pan and do the RMS, I didn't replace the donut gasket when I put the exhaust back on and it leaked, I didn't run the engine long enough for it to become a problem, I shut it down as soon as I saw the exhaust smoke at the joint.
I had something similar when I put headers on my TJ... Ultimately my problem turned out to be that the header bolts either loosened after heating up the first couple of times or I didn't tighten them enough. Eventually I cranked them tight and the problem was solved. My RPM at idle was slightly higher than normal with headers as opposed to the stock manifold and this solved that issue too.
Not related - make sure you have some sort of dampening device at the beginning of your exhaust system or eventually your exhaust will crack your headers. I cracked my banks headers without the dampening device shown in the attached pic in about 1.5 years
