99 4 cyl won't crank/won't start

99 jeep wrangler se 4 cyl won't crank over/won't start. I can pop start it but can't jump start it with cables. It doesn't do anything just like when trying to start it with the key. I hear clicking in the fuse box behind the glove box and at the starter fuse/relay under the hood. The starter and battery tested good, the alternator seems fine always reads normal at the guage and there doesn't seem to be any issues with anything electrical while it's running. The OBD II reads good no error codes. At a loss in figuring this out, this just happened out of the blue. After starting repeatedly without issue for many trips throughout the day, it just wouldn't start at my last stop.

Don't always trust your gauges. Just because the gauge looks like the alternator is good, doesnt mean it is.

No electrical issues what so ever, everthing worked fine. Didn't test the alternator due to that. From what I understand the battery would be overcharged or undercharged if the alternator was the issue that and the lights, radio and guages would be acting up reflecting something like the alternator was the issue.
Also the battery tested good and the vehicle wouldn't start or even turn over when jumped with cables, something it should do if the alt were bad.

I know you say it tested good, but that sounds like your battery has issues man. How old is your battery? Are your terminals corroded at all?

Battery is a 3 year old Interstate 75 month battery. Cleaned the cables and connections which weren't that bad to start. Also tried jumping it with cables and let it sit building a charge for 10 minutes with the cables on before trying to start it. Nothing just like when I turn the key. Also put the battery on the load tester at Autozone and it tested fine.

One funny thing that occurred is that the stereo stayed on when I removed the key. It should have shut off when I tuned the key off. Maybe a short?
I can't see how and no error codes.

Stereo stayed on when you removed the key?! now that is wierd. That may be some kind of short in your ignition switch in your steering column..........hmmm. Do your normal things come on when the Jeep is off? i.e. "inside the jeep light" when your doors are open, buzzing alarm when keys left in with door open, "under the hood light" when the hood is popped?

That is the only unusual thing I noticed, everything else seems to be normal.

Jeeps have a remote starter solenoid like fords right ? If so have you tried to jump across the solenoid to see if it starts or turns over that way ?

Talking about jumping the solenoid screw on the starter to the positive cable post on the starter right? If so no I haven't. I believe these two screws are pretty close to each other.

What will this tell me? That the starter is good?

Yeah it will let you know if it's the starter or it could be the solenoid. I thought this would be a good starting point .
