99 Wrangler won't start and has no electrical power

About 30 minutes ago I was driving home and pulled off the road, turned on my emergency lights and shut my 99 Wrangler off for a few minutes. As soon as I turned the key to start it again, a few dash lights flashed and everything went dead. It won't crank, there's no power to the dash lights and the emergency lights don't work. My knowledge of this stuff is shaky at best but I feel like its a short somewhere in the system but I don't have any idea where to start looking. Any help would be great, thanks.

Are the terminals connected firmly to the battery posts? Any movement or corrosion? How old is the battery and have you tried jumping the jeep?
