Yes, buy a new knob. Semi common problem, the knob cracks in the back, where it slides on the metal shaft. Pull it straight off and put new one on.

Ty comp.

I found thin on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-...spagenameZWDVW

It's a buy it now for 12.50 with 7 for shipping. How much do you think the dealer would charge?

About 7-8 bucks. I cannot remember how much I paid for mine, but the dealer was the cheapest and no shipping. Give your local dealer a call and ask.

I got the billet knobs and they seem to work better than the plastic ones. I love the billet ones. But they cost about $40-$50. I got mine as a xmas gift. If you don't want to spend that much go to the dealer and get what you need to replace the bad ones. I had two break at the same time so I just replaced all of them.

One dealer didn't have it so he checked on the computer and the dealership four blocks away had it.

Cool. This dealership only sold Dodges but no Jeeps but hey, they had it in stock. The Dodge/Jeep dealership were out but they said it took a day for the part to arrive.
