a ticking noise after the engine is shut off?

sometimes after a drive my jeep makes a ticking noise for maybe 30 seconds tops after i shut it off. is that normal or something to be worried about?

thats metal contracting. Metal expands when heated. So its probaly ur exhaust or anything thats metal and hot that is cooling down. All cars do it

alright good. my friend told me the tranny was cooling down but i had to ask to make sure.

yup all cars make the ticking, its just that jeeps dont have as much sound proofing as other cars
