? about manual tranny rpm's hanging

My RPM's hang at around 2300-2600 when shifting from 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3(doesn't do it going into the remaining gears). Basically hangs at the rpm where I shift. Instead of the rpm's dropping when I engage the clutch, they just hang. Even when I've gone to the next gear I'll keep the clutch in and watch it and it will just hang and then s-l-o-w-l-y drop. Most of the time I'll just give up on it and complete the shift. Sometimes it does this, sometimes it doesn't. Seems like it will do it daily for about 3-4 days (AM or PM/cold or warm), then not at all for a week. It may be completely normal, (almost seems like a ecm adjustment) but that's what I'm trying to find out. The kicker is, I just had a brand new Mopar tranny and clutch kit put in yesterday (for other reasons)...and it still does it. So, either there is a problem external to the tranny/clutch, or it's perfectly normal. It really doesn't cause any "problems", but it seems odd and that kind of unknown stuff drives me crazy.

Any similar experiences, or thought are encouraged...please! Thanks guys.

I thought might have something to do w/clutch but that's brand new now so I don't know wth to think. And my buddy's 98 doesn't do it. Hmmm....?

Yeah, the tranny that just came out of my 04 sounded like it had a sack of marbles rolling around inside when parked and clutch out. Thought it was related to some other issues. Turns out the new one makes the identical sound. Push the clutch in = gone. Guess it's just how they're made.
