ABS Light not coming on at Start Up

Clueless here. Do I need to read the codes? Is this an easy fix?

How about a little more info:

- Mosty TJs do not have ABS. Do you know that you have it?

- Is this a change that you do not see the light?

You can test the LED light bulb by having the jeep off, holding down the trip odometer button and turning the key to the on position. This tests all the lights and meters if my memory serves me correctly.

If it is just a burnt out light Chrysler says you need to get an entire instrument cluster.

If the light stayed on it would be a problem, but usually no light equals no problem in my book...lol

Most jeeps don't have ABS (prior to the JK's). Check the brakes and see if you have ABS first before you go tearing your console and cluster apart. If you have it, there would be a wire coming from behind your front calipers (not sure what drum ABS looks like), other than your brake lines. It should have one bolt holding the sensor in. If you don't see any wires coming from there, you don't ABS. The clusters are generic so just because the cut-out is there, doesn't mean it has it.

Well some TJ's do have ABS, our 97 does. There are 3 fuses that can shut down the ABS and it's lamp, #2 and #3 in the under hood box, and I think it's #10 in the under dash box. I would check the fuses first.
