My AC/Heater only works on the highest setting. I'd rather not have to pay to get it fixed if possible. Was told it was a module/resistor? How might I go about replacing this part?
Very simple. Remove the plastic shroud under the passenger side dash, closest to the door. Under there you will find the resistor. Unplug the wire harness from it, remove the couple screws, and it'll slide right out.
3 hex screws. 5/16" maybe? This pic is from the floor board looking up, but you'll get the idea once you look at it. Two towards the back down low, and one up high on the right.
You can also check YouTube. I'm pretty certain there's a video or two on just about any repair you can think of. I should mention, the resistor is screwed into the hvac box. Once the shroud is removed, you'll only see the wire connection side of it. The metallic "cage" part in my earlier pic is inserted into the box. Unplug the wires, unscrew the resistor, and out it comes.
