AC Issues on a new Jeep

Hey everyone,

So I have started my adventures in my new Jeep, I have discovered a few things I would like to check out before I start investing in all the Jeep mods of my dreams

So when I test drove my Jeep June 23rd, the A/C worked fine, but when I drove it home it blew hot air when turned on. The previous and only owner keep meticulous records of all the Jeep's repairs. HOORAY! So I found a receipt for AC service done 6/16/10. $400 worth of service, that is. Seems they found the system empty. So they refilled it and added "stop leak and dye" they also found that there were issue in the instrument panel which they repaired/rewired. I figured it must be a leak in the system. I attached a gauge to B which I believe is the Low pressure port and the gauge would bounce from lowest to dangerous. over and over. When I realized that A which I believe is the compressor would turn on for a couple of sec the off again. What could be causing this issue? Is the Compressor bad?

Here is the exact quote from the work receipt:
"Check over for no A/C. Found that the A/C system was completely empty. Charge system and add dye. Add stop leak to any further leakage. Check for fan speeds not working. Found that blower MOTOR resistor was not operation properly. R&R blower motor resistor. Test for proper installation. Okay. Check for instrument cluster <b>Not Operating Properly. Found that wiring in instrument cluster needed repair. Repaired Wiring. Test for proper operation. Okay. "

Any ideas? I am usually riding around top off but I can imagine there maybe times I will need the AC

Here's a picture to make sure I know what I'm talking about LOL!

Have you checked around every AC component for the dye? If not, get a black light and some yellow glasses, put glasses on and shine the light around every component, if you don't see yellow liquid coming from any parts, no leaks so far..But if your system was empty, means you have a leak

Also, directions on gauges might say connect to 'high side' well your high side is the 'hot side' (when you touch the hoses) and on gauges the hose will be red and for the low side will be the one with cool, or liquid on the hose, which is blue on the gauges... The low side should be about 30-40psi and high should be around 220-250 psi..

Bring it back to the mechanics that worked on it. They might not even realize your a different person. Show them the receipt and tell them there is still a problem.
If they realize your not the same guy...whats the big deal, it shouldnt matter.
Either way if they are a reputable shop they should stand behind there work. They supposedly did all these repairs just over a month ago.
