AC slow leak?

Maybe someone else has already had this problem? I get just about a year on an AC charge. The ac gets used year round cooling in summer and defogging in winter. The garage, well the auto dept. at the local technical high school, that recharges it said they can find no leak under the hood and anything inside the car is beyond what they would tackle. Hopefully one or more TJ owners have experienced the same problem and can save me some time. The recharge only runs about $30 but if the fix isn't too involved I would prefer it be corrected. When the compressor was replaced about two years ago the lines under the hood, in order to qualify for the lifetime warranty, were also replaced.

Cheers, John

Look on Ebay - you can find an electronic leak detector for about $20.

Then you can find it yourself.

A 1 year leak isn't big, but you should be able to find it. Bet you'll find the cost of fixing it exceeds several years worth of recharging.

You're probably right about the cost to fix. This 98 wrangler has averaged about $3,000 per year in maintenance. It's funny I used to think the cost of keeping my old british cars on the road was high.
