Accessory Power Plug

Just bought a '99 Wrangler for my wife and we LOVE it. Since it has only one power outlet on the dash, and we are not smokers, does anyone have any pictures or experience with installing a 2 or 3 outlet extension in the ashtray opening? Need more outlets for GPS, Cell phone, Ipod etc...

Also, how about a console. Any suggestions?

Hey Jimmy, welcome to this forum, and all things Jeep. Hope you enjoy your time on here, and as we have two outlets already on our Rubicon, I don't know how to help you with this one. But welcome, and I am sure someone else will help you out.

on my 01' I installed 2 extra outlets in the console on the pass side of the shifter, I tapped into the 2 spare accessory wires behind the glovebox. one is ignition fused and the other is live.

I've thought about that quite a bit in the past but now that I have a tow rig I kinda gave up since my HD has 3 on the dash. I searched around and found a couple different plugs that I liked at Radio Shack. It would be easy to use the existing wiring from the stocker outlet to power the others using a relay. Exactly how many extra outlets do you want?

It would also be really easy to hard wire the GPS and phone to the fuse panel. Ask me more if you are interested.

I didnt want to have all those outlets sticking out of the dash so i wired everything up and tucked it behind in the cavity where the stereo is. Just a thought for ya.
