Adding A/C

I know its mid October but I im thinking ahead. I have a 99 TJ that did not come with A/C. I want to add it at some point. I know just take the top off and all that but I have no room to store the hard top so im stuck with it year round. My question is, if I find a unit from a crashed TJ, is it a simple bolt up? or is this more work then its worth?

It is more work than it's worth, aftermarket units mount the evaporator under the dash. Factory units are built into the vehicle. Sell the hard top and buy a good soft top. You will fare better year round.
